Before June 1 (or before you leave)
- Review your insurance: wind, flood and hurricane deductibles
- Book your shutter contractor and note where the panels are stored
- Write down your pool, generator and boat instructions
- Photograph and video the home and its contents
- Share contacts and spending limits with your home watch company
- Know your evacuation zone
When a storm is forecast
- Confirm that shutters will be installed
- Bring in outdoor furniture and items that could blow away
- Set the A/C and refrigerator for a long power outage
- Secure the boat and lift as instructed
- Record the home's condition before the storm
After the storm
- Wait for officials to say it's safe to return
- Exterior and interior check with photos
- Water extraction or tarping if needed, within your spending limit
- Organize records for your insurance adjuster
We handle all of this in our storm preparation and post-storm check services.
